PRIVACY
Privacy and cookie policy
What this site stores, what it sends to third parties, and what you can ask us for. Written to be read, not to cover us: if something isn't clear, that's our mistake and we want to hear about it.
The summary, in four lines
This site measures visits with Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and only stores measurement cookies if you accept. We run no advertising campaigns and use no advertising pixels or remarketing.
The only things stored in your browser are your self-check progress and the Google Analytics property ID you type, if you use that page, and your cookie decision, if we ever ask you for one.
Apart from measurement, no third party receives anything while you read. Fonts, styles and code come from our own domain. Measurement goes through Google and Microsoft and is explained below.
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. The measurement data is processed by Google and Microsoft to provide the service to us, as explained below.
Who is responsible
The controller is whoever decides what the data is used for. Here that is CookingMetrics.
Controller: CookingMetrics.
Contact for privacy matters: through the contact booking page, saying that it is a request about your data.
Anything you ask about your data comes in through that channel, and we answer you directly.
What this site stores in your browser
Two things, and you can delete both from your own browser whenever you want.
Your self-check progress and property ID (cm.selfcheck and cm.selfcheck.property). If you tick items on the self-check page, your browser remembers which ones; if you type your Google Analytics property ID, it remembers that too, to build direct links to Admin. That way you don't lose the work when you close the tab. It is stored on your device, in local storage: it never reaches a server and we never see it. The links built with that ID open Google Analytics in another tab, and only then does Google receive it, as with any visit to its site.
Your cookie decision (cm_consent). It only exists if we asked you and you answered. It records what you accepted and when, for six months, so we don't ask again on every visit.
Apart from those two, this site stores nothing else. The measurement cookies from Google Analytics and Clarity exist only if you accept them, and are explained in the measurement section.
What happens while you read a page
Showing you this page involves the infrastructure that serves it and, to measure visits, Google and Microsoft.
Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site, and Railway, where it lives. They process the request in order to answer it and log technical data — IP address, browser, page requested — for security and to keep the site working. It is the minimum any server needs to serve a page.
The fonts come from our own domain. Until September 13, 2026 they loaded from Google's servers, which therefore received your IP address. We changed it: the files are now served from here and Google never learns about your visit.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, to measure which pages get read. They load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when they do. Microsoft Clarity, to see how the pages are used, loads from Microsoft's servers only if you accept analytics. All of it is explained in the measurement section.
No advertising and no social buttons that track you, and no fonts, icons or libraries pulled from somewhere else.
When you leave the site
Some links take you elsewhere. From the moment you click, the other site's policy applies, not this one.
Calendly, if you book a call. There you do hand over your name, email and whatever you fill in.
Google Forms, if you apply for an opening: there you give your name, your contact details and whatever else you fill in.
LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, if you follow our profiles.
cace.org.ar and martingaray.com.ar, which we link with campaign parameters so we know how many people arrive from here. That parameter travels in the address, not in a cookie of ours.
Measurement
We measure which pages get read with Google Analytics, and how they are used with Microsoft Clarity. We load both through Google Tag Manager.
A notice asks you. You can accept, keep only what is necessary, or choose one by one, and refusing takes the same single click as accepting.
If you accept, Google Analytics and Clarity store cookies in your browser. Analytics measures how you move through the site. Clarity records your clicks, scrolling and pointer movements so we can watch them as replays of the visit and as heatmaps, and it receives the visitor and session identifiers Google Analytics assigned to you, so we can match each replay with your data in Analytics.
If you refuse, no measurement cookie is stored and Clarity does not run. Google Tag Manager still loads, in a restricted mode: it may receive basic signals about the visit without cookies — the page, the browser and the IP address — which Google uses to estimate the traffic it cannot see.
Every tool is listed by name in the preferences panel, which you can open from the footer of any page.
How long it is kept. Google Analytics keeps event and user data tied to cookies or identifiers for 14 months; this does not affect most standard reports, which are built on aggregated data. Clarity keeps replays for 30 days, or 9 months if we mark them as favorites, and click and heatmap data for 9 months.
How Google Analytics is set up. Google records just the country and region, with no granular location collection. We run no advertising campaigns, we sell no data, and the notice never grants advertising permissions.
If your browser already said no
Some browsers and extensions send a signal called Global Privacy Control, which means "do not sell or share my data".
We read it and we honor it: if it arrives, measurement and advertising stay off without you doing anything, and we tell you so on the page.
We do not ask again with a banner: you already answered, and asking again would mean we hadn't listened.
Your rights
Over any personal data we hold about you — if you wrote to us or booked a call, for instance — you can exercise these rights, and exercising them is free.
Access: have us tell you what data of yours we hold.
Rectification: have us correct what is wrong.
Erasure: have us delete it.
Objection and restriction: have us stop using it for a given purpose.
Portability: have us hand it to you in a file you can take elsewhere.
Withdraw consent whenever you want, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
Requests go through the contact channel in the previous section and we answer within thirty days.
If you think we are not complying
You can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country or region, and you do not have to tell us first.
Every country has its own data protection authority, and it is the one that receives those complaints.
Changes to this policy
When we change something, the date at the top changes and we keep the previous versions.
If the change affects what is measured or who receives something, we will ask you again instead of assuming you agreed.
